World Bank European Office

The Bank’s office building in Paris, constructed in 1969, was planned to accommodate a large staff complement that did not materialize. The facility has been shared with the IMF and a number of other organizations. These images, photographed in February 1989, illustrate the original interior design of the building prior to renovation in the early 1990s.
 

		The building exterior of patterned glass and concrete appeared especially austere in winter. The facade gave no hint of the warm tones and graceful lines of the interior.
