Hughes HK-1 Flying Boat “Hercules”
The prototype and sole example of the giant amphibious aircraft, also called the Spruce Goose, flew in 1947. The aircraft was designed as a military transport with capacity for 750 troops. Photographed in its storage bay at Long Beach CA.
